Common questions

A little clarity before you start.

Answers to questions patients often have about orthodontic care. For advice about your own teeth or treatment, talk with our orthodontists.

Am I too old for orthodontic treatment?

We offer orthodontic care for adults as well as children and teens. Our orthodontists will evaluate your teeth, gums and bite to discuss whether braces or Invisalign is appropriate for you.

How do I choose between Invisalign and braces?

The right choice depends on your bite, treatment goals and daily routine. Invisalign is removable and requires consistent wear; braces stay in place. We’ll explain the options after your examination.

Does an early consultation mean my child needs braces?

Not necessarily. An early evaluation can help identify developing bite issues. Our doctors may recommend treatment, or may simply monitor growth and tooth development.

How long will treatment take?

There is no single timeline for every smile. Treatment length depends on the starting position of your teeth, your bite, the treatment plan and how closely you follow our instructions. We will give you an estimate at your consultation.

What does the first consultation cost?

An adult consultation is $90, credited toward treatment if you start. Consultations for patients under 18 are free. Both consultation types are scheduled for one hour.

Is my online appointment confirmed immediately?

Yes. The time you pick on our Book page is reserved for you. To change it, call your office.

Will my insurance cover treatment?

Benefits depend on your individual plan. Contact the office where you’ll receive treatment so the team can review participation and orthodontic benefits with you.

Which doctor will I see?

Dr. Jessica Greenberg is at North Arlington Orthodontics. Dr. Boshi Jeff Zhang is at Jersey City Orthodontics. Choose your preferred office when requesting your consultation.

What if I have an urgent concern?

Call your treating office: North Arlington at (201) 991-4447 or Jersey City at (201) 940-1555. An online message is not an emergency service. For a medical emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care.
